We were appointed by Tesco to deliver a comprehensive environmental strategy and feasibility review of all sites. The firm provided project management in the development and implementation of Tesco’s Biomass renewable and energy projects.
We were responsible for project managing the development of a £20m 6.5MW wood-fuelled Biomass Power plant at Livingston in Scotland. The plant is supplied and powered by circa 95,000 tonnes of woodchip sourced in the local area and will be operational by the end of 2012.
Our work supports Tesco’s objective to halve the carbon footprint of the existing estate by 2020 and to reduce carbon emissions by 50% from Tesco’s new stores and Distribution Centres to achieve year on year carbon emission reductions in new and existing spaces.
