We are part of a multidisciplinary team drawn together to achieve 12 sustainability goals that will guide the entire process of converting this old military facility into a learning park. Aspects of the strategy include on-site energy production, mainly capturing solar power with photovoltaics and Stirling Dish engines. All hot water requirements are also to be covered by solar energy.
Aiming to become a trend-setting showcase environmental facility, all aspects were covered so as to minimise emissions; all vehicles within the park will use hybrid technolody and be integrated with the regional transit network. Reduced energy demand will be achieved by using advanced control systems and low-consumption lighting and HVAC appliances, combined with passive measures such as more stringent building code compliance.
