Lower Lea Valley Olympic and Legacy Masterplans, London
Client: London Development Agency

We provided engineering and infrastructure masterplanning advice to support the preparation of the Lower Lea Valley Regeneration Masterplan and the London bid to host the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The approved regeneration plans will transform this largely derelict 780 hectare brownfield site which is divided in two by the River Lea, into an extensive area of natural beauty with much improved transport inks connecting communities and facilities on both sides of the Lea.

Since the site is located on a flood plain, the area’s complex hydrological interactions have had to be taken into account in developing design solutions and making the canals and waterways in the area accessible to the public is a key feature to the plans.
